Thaksin Shinawatr tweeted the other day, tongue-in-cheek perhaps, that Thai soldiers were like watermelons.

"They may be green on the outside. But inside, they are red."

He was apparently suggesting that a large number of military officers might in fact be his supporters despite their public statements to the contrary.

But as soon as that comment was spotted on Twitter, a number of tweeple immediately came up with their reactions.

The most interesting among them, to me, were probably a few of them who tweeted:

"Durians are also green on the outside. But inside, it's yellow all over..."
